Skills and experience
Graduating from the University of Reading with a BA in Typography and Graphic Communication, I worked in-house in print design before moving into the field of websites in 1998. With a blend of traditional and new media design skills, I am able to bring a wide range of experience into web design and am therefore very aware of the differences between designing for the web and paper-based literature.
My sites are built with XHTML and CSS, the graphics and conceptual work produced using Adobe Photoshop. Working alongside Microsoft certified professionals, I have created layouts and produced graphics for Microsoft technologies including database-driven websites and web applications and am therefore at home styling Active Server Pages. Furthermore, I have kept my hand in with the odd piece of paper-based design here and there. Oh, and hand drawing and illustration aren't outside my skillset either!
